UXO clearance at Erquy beach

Location: Erquy, Plage de Caroual, Bretagne. France

For one of our major clients, Deminetec-ECG sent a team to clear the beach at Caroual in Erquy, Bretagne in October 2020. This bay is suspected of being heavily bombed during the Second World War.

The strong tides prevented some of our targets to be approached by land so after investigating the targets on the beach, a team of divers were sent in the water to approach the remaining targets at a depth of 20m below sea level. The visibility was reported great, which usually isn’t the case for working divers. The survey was done by our trusted partners of UXOmap and the beach clearing was the entry point of a cable that will run for 33km to an offshore windfarm.
